Privacy: pdf-lib runs in your browser. The PDF is not uploaded. The library itself is loaded from a CDN (cdnjs).
Number PDF pages without sending the file
Choose bottom or top, left, center, or right, a start number, and a simple format such as “1 / 12”. The stamp uses standard Helvetica so no extra fonts are embedded. For merge and split, use the PDF toolkit.

Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Page numbers are drawn with pdf-lib inside the browser.
Will this work on a password-protected PDF?
Usually not. Encrypted PDFs that the browser cannot open will fail with an error.
Can I start numbering at a page other than 1?
Set Start number to whatever the first page should display (for example 3 if the cover is unnumbered elsewhere). Every page in the file is stamped.
Where does pdf-lib come from?
The script is loaded from cdnjs.cloudflare.com. After it loads, the PDF stays local.
