Private PDF merge, split & compress in your browser

Need to combine scanned contracts, peel out a few pages from a long report, or shrink a PDF before emailing it? The ITCOH PDF Toolkit does merge, split, and light compression entirely on your device. You pick files, click a button, and download the result — there is no account, no waiting queue, and no upload to a remote server.

What this tool does. In Merge mode you drop multiple PDFs, reorder them with up/down controls, and stitch them into one document. Split mode lets you extract a page range (for example pages 3–7) or export every page as its own PDF inside a ZIP. Compress mode rebuilds the PDF with cleaner object streams so many office documents get smaller without leaving your laptop. Everything runs with client-side JavaScript libraries loaded in the page; once the page is open, your documents stay local.

Why privacy matters for PDFs. PDFs often contain payroll, medical paperwork, tax forms, NDAs, and identity scans. Traditional “online PDF tools” ask you to upload those files so a cloud worker can process them. Even when a vendor promises deletion, you still create a copy on someone else’s disk and trust their retention policy. ITCOH’s approach is different: processing happens in your browser’s memory. We never receive your PDF bytes, so we cannot log, train on, or leak them.

Privacy proof (how to verify). Open your browser’s Network tab, then merge or split a file. You should see traffic only for the page itself, fonts/CDN scripts if any, and analytics — not multipart uploads of your PDF. You can also try offline: after the page has loaded once, disconnect from the internet and the toolkit still works on already-loaded scripts. That is the practical proof that files never upload.

Good use cases. Packing several invoices into one attachment; extracting a signed signature page; preparing a smaller PDF for a portal with size limits; cleaning a chatty export before sharing with a client. Limitations (honest). Heavy scanned image PDFs may not shrink dramatically — compression here is structural cleanup, not aggressive JPEG recompression of every page image. Extremely large files can strain browser memory; if a 200+ MB scan fails, split it first. Encrypted/password-protected PDFs may not open until you decrypt them elsewhere. Advanced editing (annotations, form filling, OCR, digital signatures) is out of scope — this toolkit focuses on merge, split, and compress. Always keep an original backup before you overwrite anything.
