Upload a photo, pick a shape, drag and zoom to frame it, and download a clean PNG with a transparent background outside the shape. Everything happens on your device.
| Shape | Best for | Dedicated page |
|---|---|---|

| Oval | Portrait cameos, vintage frames, invitation cards | Circle & oval crop |
| Square | Instagram posts, product listings, album art, avatars | Square crop image |
| Rectangle | YouTube thumbnails, banners, stories, photo prints | Rectangle crop image |
| Rounded corners | App icons, UI screenshots, cards and thumbnails | Rounded corner image |
A normal crop always gives you a rectangle. When you cut a circle or a rounded shape, the corners must be transparent so the image sits cleanly on any background — a coloured slide, a website header, a dark-mode app or a Canva design. PNG and WebP both keep that transparency; JPG cannot, which is why this tool does not offer it.
Want the shape filled instead of see-through? Set the background inside the shape to white or any colour. That is handy for logos with transparent areas or for “fit the whole image” framing, where the photo is shrunk to fit inside the shape without being cropped.
Need the subject cut out from its background first? Run the photo through the background remover, then bring the transparent PNG here and put it in a circle.
Yes. It is free with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many images you cut.
No. The image is opened and cut by JavaScript in your browser, and the PNG is created on your device. Nothing is sent to ITCOH or anyone else.
Cropping trims an image to a smaller rectangle. Cutting to a shape keeps only the pixels inside a circle, oval or rounded outline and makes the rest transparent, so the result is not a rectangle when placed on a background.
PNG and WebP keep transparency. PNG works everywhere; WebP files are usually smaller and work in modern browsers and most apps. JPG cannot store transparency.
Yes. Press “Fit whole” to shrink the photo so all of it sits inside the shape, then choose a transparent, white or coloured background for the empty space.
Yes. On Android and iPhone you can pick a photo from the gallery, drag with one finger and pinch with two fingers to zoom, then download the PNG to your device.
